These 1200- & 900-hour service experiences provide a career-building experience for members.
Priority applications are due August 1st.
What We Do
Prevention Corps is more than volunteering—it is a 10-month commitment to serving your community and changing the way we respond to the opioid epidemic. Our mission is to provide proactive, community-focused solutions in opioid education, awareness, and stigma reduction. The program’s core values of empowerment, partnership, and awareness are alive in every aspect of our work.

Hear It From Our Members
“To me, being part of the AmeriCorps Prevention Corps community means being part of something bigger than myself. When I initially applied to Prevention Corps, I did so in hopes of gaining valuable experience in the social services field. I have gotten so much more.”
— Victoria O’Niell, 2020-2021 Member
“Every task that I fulfill and every opportunity that I have truly does create impact in the communities that we serve as members, whether it be supplying them with Narcan, a living saving tool, or providing education and using our prevention framework to ensure our capacity to help others.”
— Kaitlin Comet, 2020-2021 Member
“What surprised me most about working with Prevention Corps is how it made me feel. I knew I was going into a field I wanted to help in, but I didn’t realize until I was doing it just how much I was helping. I knew I’d make a difference, but I had no idea it would be with this many people.”
